Cruelly beat up

Taxi drivers in Prague cruelly beat up and rob a customer over forty Czech Crowns (approximately 2 EUR)

The Prague police have arrested two taxi drivers, who cruelly beat up and robbed their customer in the middle of May 2010. The charge carries a prison sentence of up to twelve years. The man did not pay forty Czech Crowns. The police gave out information about this case on Monday.

The customer got into the taxi on 13th May 2010 and wanted to go somewhere. When the taxi stopped in Jan Želivský Street in Prague 3, he paid the woman taxi driver only 90 CZK, while the 35-year old woman taxi driver demanded 130 CZK. So the man said that he would pay the rest of the amount in a moment and started searching in his pockets for the money.

“While he was searching his pockets, the women physically attacked him hitting him in the face. The injured person called emergency line 158 for help, but the woman grabbed his phone out of his hand, started the car and took the customer to the front of her friend's house, who was the 33-year old owner of the taxi service,“ said the Prague police spokeswoman Ivana Ježková.

The owner was waiting in front of the house with a club. He probably already knew the details, he was waiting with a telescopic club and he pulled the thirty-year old customer out of the car and started to beat him up on the street hitting different parts of his body. The man took several weeks to recover.

“Both offenders left the man lying on the pavement without any help and searched his bag, stole his mobile phone to make up for the forty-crowns loss and drove away,“ added Ježková. The police managed to catch the offenders, both pleaded guilty. During the house search, the investigators found the stolen mobile phone as well as the telescopic club.
